As India continues to fight the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE), a leading global content company, along with Salman Khan Films (SKF), have pledged to provide support for Covid nationwide support, including donations of basic medical equipment ranging from oxygen cylinders, hubs and fans. This support will come from the proceeds of the multi-platform edition of the long-awaited film “Radhe” on May 13, 2021. ZEE and SKF are partnering with India’s largest and most trusted donation platform, GiveIndia, to activate much-needed relief efforts .
The recent influx of cases across the country has led to a serious burden on medical facilities due to a shortage of critical life-saving equipment. The contribution of the revenues generated by the multi-format release of the film in cinemas, the ZEE pay-per-view service – ZEEPlex and the leading OTT platform in India – ZEE5, will help GiveIndia in procuring the mentioned basic medical supplies in support of the healthcare system. ZEE and SKF will also work to provide support for the families of daily earners, who are an integral part of the overall media and entertainment ecosystem.
Commenting on the noble move, a company spokesman said: “The nation is experiencing an extremely difficult situation and as a responsible corporation, ZEE remains committed to taking all necessary steps to step up the fight against Covid-19. At ZEE, we believe that we not only provide extraordinary entertainment to our viewers, but also go beyond business to make meaningful and focused efforts to drive positive change across the country. We sincerely hope that the support since the release of Radhe will help increase resources to provide vital efforts to help the people affected by the pandemic. “
Salman spokesman Khan Films added: “We are pleased to be part of this noble initiative and contributing to the country’s battle against Covid-19. Since last year, we have been consistent in our efforts to combat Covid-19, as this unprecedented crisis has hit our
the country and the world. It is very important that we also realize that stopping the release of a pre-made film may not help us in any way, but using its revenue to fight the pandemic is a more appropriate and pragmatic approach. The launch of Radhe on ZEE5 and ZeePlex will allow us to contribute more in these extremely difficult times. “
As a responsible corporate citizen, ZEE has taken decisive steps to improve the country’s overall health infrastructure in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. In its national level of CSR to improve the health infrastructure in the country against Covid-19, ZEE donated 240+ ambulances, 46,000+ kits for PPE, oxygen humidifiers and 6,00,000 daily meals. The company had also built and donated a 304-bed Covid Health Center (DCHC) to frontline workers and their families in Maharashtra. ZEE Entertainment continues to take concerted steps to support the nation in its fight against Covid-19.
