There was a sweet moment in the first season of I’ve never had one where Devi (Maitreya Ramakrishnan) and her two friends search for Kegel exercises as they try to figure out how best to have sex. The trailer for the second season shows that Devi & Co have moved from this line of questions to something else – who to have sex with?
There’s Ben (Jaron Lewison), Devi’s academic nemesis, who was sweet to Devi in the last episode, driving her to her mother, who delivers her father’s ashes to the sea. But he has hairy forearms. Then there’s Paxton (Darren Barnett), a local high school beauty who, while not smart in Devi’s sense, is “very good at sex.”
Throw in the battle of Aneesa, the new Indian girl at school who is “better, cooler” and the season rushes into a messy comedy of mistakes.
Created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Poorna Jagannathan, Darren Barnet, Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Richa Moorjani and Jaren Lewison, the second season falls on Netflix on July 15.
