IN Mortal Kombat, MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to beating money, doesn’t know about his legacy – or why Outworld Emperor Shang Tsung sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, the world beyond Cryomancer, to hunt Cole. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes to look for Sonia Blade on the instructions of Jacks, a Special Forces major who wears the same strange dragon that Cole was born with. He soon finds himself in the temple of Lord Rayden, an elder God and protector of the earthly kingdom, who provides refuge to those who bear the sign. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and the fraudulent mercenary Kano as he prepares to stand on Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of the Outworld in a battle with high stakes for the universe. But will Cole be pressed hard enough to unlock his arcana – the enormous force inside his soul – in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?
